How Our Money Habits Could Cost Our Precious Time

How Our Money Habits Could Be Costing Our Precious Time

September 16, 2019 //  by Jenn//  Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 11 minutes Would you trade money for time or time for money? We say money isn’t everything, yet we chase it like it’s the end of the world… There was a time in my life when I was miserable and exhausted all the time. I was a new mom, and I worked a full-time job that was …

Learning What the Bible Says About Money & Debt

September 2, 2019 //  by Jenn//  Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 16 minutes Nobody wants to talk about this stuff, especially believers. We’re supposed to just “believe” that things will happen for us financially if we just hope and pray hard enough. It’s what I was always told to do. It’s a tough subject, I know. But since I’ve been openly talking about it for at least 9 …

Being Debt-Free is NOT about Being-Debt Free!

August 19, 2019 //  by Jenn//  Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 8 minutes A few years ago, someone asked me, “What’s the difference between being debt-free with a mortgage and being debt-free with rent? Isn’t it the same thing? Isn’t that still considered debt-free?” Yes, it’s still considered being debt-free. You have no debt besides a mortgage, or you have no debt besides the rent. The difference is …

Why We Pay CASH for Cars and How You Can Too

August 5, 2019 //  by Jenn//  4 Comments

Reading Time: 12 minutes The thing that keeps Americans the MOST broke is…. car payments. We always had car payments. It’s just part of life, right? I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be! I realize now that the dumbest thing I ever did was trade in my paid-for high school car to get a small …

4 Most Important Things I’ve Learned About Debt

July 29, 2019 //  by Jenn//  Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 7 minutes Over the last decade, I’ve learned more about money than I have in my whole life! Matter of fact, it was almost 10 years ago whenever I was trying to decide which was cheaper – the late fee on the mortgage or an overdraft fee from the bank. That’s just unimaginable today. Ernie and I …

OUR DEBT-FREE JOURNEY: How We Got Out of Debt for Good

September 26, 2015 //  by Jenn//  2 Comments

Reading Time: 16 minutes I was scared. In October 2010, right after our second child was born, I was sick and tired of feeling the weight of financial strain on our life. I felt a huge burden handling our finances and Ernie felt a burden wondering why he made a decent salary, yet we never seemed to have much left …

I’m asked very often how I do my bun! Here it is I’m asked very often how I do my bun! Here it is! I have really fine/thin hair, so a big messy bun doesn’t work at all — It’s actually impossible.

I call this the messy-dressy bun, and it saves me on those messy hair days (or on that 3rd day of not washing 😉). It takes about 5-8 minutes (once mastered); it makes it look like I actually have hair; like I took time to fix it; and decent enough for either a nice dinner, an important meeting, or just for working out or jumping on the trampoline at DaSwamp and pulling a muscle😆. Ask me how I know.
It works for everythinggggg.

*You’ll need a hair tie/rubber band about 6 bobby pins, and hairspray (and maybe some dry shampoo if you’re on that 3rd day too). Enjoy!!

I’ve been French braiding my own hair since I was a teenager, but I’ve never attempted the “reverse” French braid. Took a little minute to learn, but I got it! 🙌🏼😍😍

We made a decision to sell our manufactured/mobile home and continue to pay off debt the way @daveramsey teaches. But instead of buying again right away, our tough decision was to rent for 1 year, no more than 2 years (Even though we could’ve been approved for another house). ⠀
⠀
We had a mess to clean up first. No we weren’t in big trouble - we were normal folks with normal everyday debt that normal everyday people have. And we realized how dumb debt was! We wanted OUT!!⠀
⠀
We knew we could do it in 1 year while renting, but you know how life is all the time. Well, we did it in one! We also made sure to rent something really small and uncomfortable - Dave’s advice (get too comfy and it’s harder to leave).⠀
⠀
We bought a house the smarter way this time - Making sure we were in a better position to buy a house - the house and land we really wanted - not just some house we could get just to get it. We made sure we waited until we had NO other debt, a clean slate. ⠀
⠀
The hard-road-less-traveled destination is SO worth it!! And so glad we waited for the right house to buy instead of being hasty! We love our little piece of country on the bayou😭🏡🐓🐂🐐🐟🐊⠀
